Were you offered a “Class A” detector?
That class left the standard in 2020. The current edition of IEC 62793 deleted it and put in its place three numbers you can actually require: how much it detects, how much warning it gives, and how often it stops the operation for nothing.
- What the current standard says, and the performance of each technology What the classes were and why they disappeared, what each technology measures and what it cannot see, what performance the literature reports, and which location networks exist in the region today.
- Eight questions for evaluating any offer Each one asks for a figure the standard defines and a serious supplier can provide. They separate what can be demonstrated from what is merely claimed.
